Thank you to New Farm Library for hosting my blogging workshop yesterday.
I was delighted to meet the lovely group of people who turned up.
I have been following Maria’s blog The Next Stage for some time now and yesterday I met her in person. Thanks for taking this pic Maria. (I should have got someone else to take the photo so that you could have joined me. Sigh.)
We had a couple of authors in the audience, Rhyll and Wayne Paul. Rhyll has written Pebbles in the Road and, for children, Friends of the Flood. Check out her website.
Incidentally, Rhyll is giving a writers’ workshop at Sandgate Library on 26th February and Corinda Library on 26th March.
Wayne Paul is an illustrator with a heightened sense of humour and his book is Crutches. Check this link for his website Droopy Draws (I didn’t dare ask where he got his nick-name from). Watch out for his name in The Courier Mail shortly.
Debbie came along from Brisbane Booze and Books (I quote) “A bookclub for like-minded people who enjoy great food, alcohol and books.” They have nearly 300 members.
I was going to write about my workshop, but I found that there was much more talent in the audience than there was standing in front of the overhead projector!
I havn’t mentioned everyone who attended by name, but they were all a wonderful lively bunch, for that I thank you.

I am so glad the day went well for you. I would have loved to come but there were too many jobs at home that beckoned. Hopefully we will be able able to meet in person another day.
Best wishes.

I really enjoyed the workshop Fairy, it was lovely having such a receptive group of people. It would be lovely to meet you in person but Maleny is a decent drive down to New Farm when you have so much on. Hopefully another time.

Was a pleasure meeting you Jean. Thanks for the tag to Brisbane Booze and Books. Now I have the blogging bug. I have started two already. Need to add some content over the next few days. I think the bookclub needs a blog too. Do I sound addicted much? You were so easy to listen to and I learnt so much. Look out world there is a new bunch of bloggers on the loose. x

Lovely to meet you at the workshop. Thank you for your kind words. I’m delighted that what you learned on Saturday has got you right into the blogging world with enthusiasm. It might be addictive – but there’s no law against it! Once you start posting on your blogs I’d love to check them out.

I hope you didn’t get stage fright Jean! I would have been overwhelmed with all of those authors etc. in the audience BUT you have an excellent blog, your blog works, you have dear constant readers AND you have lots of experience in the blogosphere (have been doing it for a while now) and aside from the authors etc. in the audience, you may just have been able to share your love of blogging and given some audience member the courage to “have a go” :). Glad it went well and wish I was in the audience to cheer you on 🙂

Hi Fran. No stage fright, in fact I had a great time. I loved sharing my blogging enthusiasm and tried to break it down into stages which were easy to follow. Debbie from Brisbane Booze and Books has started two blogs since Saturday and is thinking of a third.
